Founded in 2007, Cornthwaite Group is today one of the UK’s leading agricultural machinery dealers, holding the prestigious John Deere franchise for Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Dumfries & Galloway and the Isle of Man.
To support the company’s growth, we are now looking to develop our Group Finance function through the appointment of a Group Accountant. The Group Finance department reports to the Group Finance Director with the aim to support the business with its internal and external financial and management reporting responsibilities.
Reporting to the Group Finance Director the main responsibilities of the position are as follows:
Preparation and review of statutory accounts, including Group consolidated accounts:
Prepare and review management information for the Directors of the business;
Qualification / Experience
The successful candidate will hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), preferably with a practical understanding of consolidations.
Above all the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a professional approach to the working environment, possess commercial awareness, and strong communication skills as liaison with Senior Management and Directors across the breadth of the Group is an important part of the role.
You must also have the ability to work confidently on your own and as part of a wider team, working towards tight deadlines without compromising attention to detail. The ability to research and analyse data is fundamental and therefore you need to be well organised with strong mathematical skills and high level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel.
